Neil B. Davis was born Nov. 27, 1922 to William Ernest and Esther Marie Bennett. He died Jan. 9, 1945 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah, IA.* He was first memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Lt. Davis served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/KIA/FOD when lost at sea in the Pacific Ocean. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
*The remains of Lt. Davis were identified after wreckage was found in 1992 on a mountain slope in a remote area Sibuyan Island and his ashes were brought home in 2001.
