Staff Sergt. Jack T. Davis of Camp Butner, NC., is home on 14 day furlough visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Davis, 2404 Elizabeth ave.

Staff Sgt Jack T. Davis was a graduate of East High School and Central college, Pella, Ia. He was a member of the football team at Central college. He formerly was employed by the Commercial Credit Assn.

Sgt. Davis entered the army in September, 1942 and was sent overseas last October. He served with the headquarters company of anti-tank division.

Sgt. Davis is buried at the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.

Jack T. Davis was born in 1919 to Thomas E. and Nellie Maude Thornton Davis. He died Apr. 10, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and memorialized in Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton, CA.

Sgt. Davis served in World War II with the U.S. Army 310th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
