WM. COSGROVES, of DOAN, HAVE THREE SONS IN SERVICE.
Doan: John Cosgrove, son of Supervisor and Mrs. Wm. Cosgrove, left Friday morning with eight boys from Wesley, Iowa, for Des Moines for army entrance examinations. John has two other brothers now serving their country; Donald Cosgrove in Alaska in the coast guard and Andrew Cosgrove in the Navy.

Donald Joseph Cosgrove was born Sept. 23, 1915 to William Stephen and Thora Caroline Johnson Cosgrove. He died July 8, 1983 and is buried in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Huntington Beach, CA.
Petty Officer Cosgrove served in World War II with the U.S. Navy. He also served in Korea.
