Ben Corey, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Corey, 3209 Nebraska Street, has been promoted from private to corporal and transferred from St. Petersburg, Florida to Hammer field, California.

Benjamin Alfred “Ben” Corey was born Mar. 5, 1923 to Leonard Henry and Gladys Bell Corey. He died Nov. 17, 2011 and is buried in Saint Thomas Episcopal Church Columbarium, Saint Petersburg, FL.
Ben served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a cryptographer.
