Edwin Merton Cody was born Aug. 22, 1916 to John J. and Sarah Amelia “Sadie” Like Cody. He died Aug. 4, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France and has a cenotaph in Grand Junction Cemetery, Grand Junction, IA.
Pvt. Cody served in World War II with the U.S. Army 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was KIA in France and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
