Moville, Iowa – Mr. and Mrs. Roswell Cobb, Sr. have received word that their son, Pfc. Roswell Cobb, Jr. is missing in action. The telegram stated that he had been missing since June 22, somewhere in France, No further details were given. Pfc. Cobb will be 24 on his next birthday. He has been in the service for two years, having left for overseas about the first of March, 1944. His brother, Malcolm, is in training in Texas and his youngest brother, Robert of Sioux City is to enter the service in the course of the next couple weeks. The other Cobb boy, Ronald, of Chicago, received his medical discharge from the army some time ago.

Pvt. Robert Cobb, formerly stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark., is spending a seven-day furlough with his wife and son, Charlie, 2016 S. St. Aubin street, en route to California.

Robert Leroy Cobb was born Jan. 10, 1923 to Roswell and Pearl Robeson Cobb. He died May 25, 1997 and is buried in Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia, CA.

Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
