Sgt. Andrew N. Clancy

 

 

 

Andrew N. Clancy was born Oct. 24, 1924 to A. Melvin and Lillian V. Clancy. He died Sept. 13, 1944 and is buried in the Renwick Cemetery, Renwick, IA.

Sgt. Clancy was a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress which was shot down over their target in Blechhammer, Germany while serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was first reported MIA, later declared KIA. He was awarded the Air Medal, Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
