News About Men in Service From Over Northeast Iowa

Clutier—Rev. Father Anthony W. Chihak, pastor of St. Mary’s church of Vining and Holy Trinity church near Clutier, who volunteered for service as a Navy chaplain a few months ago, has been called into service and left the last week for Williamsburg, Va., where he will receive eight weeks of training at William and Mary College before being assigned to duty. The two churches will be without a priest temporarily.

Anthony William Chihak was born May 28, 1907 to Frank and Mary Fillipi Chihak. He died Apr. 12, 1968 and is buried in Saint Johns Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Monsignor Chihak served in World War II as a Chaplain with the U.S. Navy.
