Cpl. Robert L. Cheever, son of Mrs. R.C. Cheever, 445 Columbia street, has been put in charge of the hospital message center at the army air base in Lake Charles, La. A member of the base marching band and the softball team, Corporal Cheever entered service May 4, 1942. His wife, the former Marylon O'Connor, is working in that hospital also. He has been in the medical corps of the army air forces and in Lake Charles since last January 1943.
