Sloan, Iowa – Raymond C. Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Chambers of Sloan, a former athletic star at Sanborn, Iowa will receive his pilot’s wings March 25 at Dalphin, Alabama. He entered the service December 9, 1941, first serving in the mechanical division of the air force and then transferring to pilot training at Decatur, Alabama. Chambers is engaged to wed Miss Beverly Smith, formerly of Sanborn and now of Chicago, immediately following his graduation at Dalphin.

Sloan, Iowa – Graduated from the army advanced flying school at Napier field, Dothan, Alabama, Raymond C. Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Chambers of Sloan, was sworn in as a flight officer Thursday. He received his primary training at Decatur, Alabama and his basic training at Augusta, Georgia.

Raymond Charles (Bud) Chambers was born Nov. 15, 1919 to Charles F. and Myrtle N. Everhart Chambers. He died June 20, 1943 and is buried in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn, IA.

Raymond served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
