T/5 Gerald Simon Calsbeek

(Note from transcriber: 3 men from Sioux County with similar names served in WWII at approximately the same time: Gerald F. Calsbeek, Gerald S. Calsbeek and Gerard J. Kalsbeek; and a 4th man, (Francis) Gerard Calsbeek was rejected for service. Because newspapers did not always spell the names correctly it was necessary to reference military records, census records and obituaries to create accurate military bios of each veteran; however, the articles were transcribed with names spelled as printed in the news.)

Gerald Calsbeek, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Calsbeek, left Saturday morning for Des Moines for his physical examination before entering the air corps.
