Bryce Maxwell Cain was born Dec. 10, 1916 to James Oscar and Doris Alma Johnson Cain. He died Dec. 26, 1942 and is buried in Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and memorialized in Oakview Cemetery, Albia, IA.

Lt. Cain served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 401st Bomber Squadron, 91st Bomber Group, Heavy and died of wounds received in action in the Western European area and was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
