PVT. HANS BURGERS
Pvt. Hans Burgers, son of Mrs. Judith Burgers of Sioux Center, entered the army Feb. 19th, 1943.  He was sent to Miami, Florida for his basic training and then to Salt Lake City, Utah where he attends radio school.  He lived in the Lebanon community before he entered the service.  His address is Pvt. Hans Burgers, Sub. A.A. B. No. 1, Prov. Sqd. 3, Class H.5, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hans Burgers Home On Furlough
Pvt. Hans Burgers, son of Mrs. Judith Burgers, arrived home on Monday evening to spend a 15-day furlough with friends and relatives here.  Hans has been stationed in Arizona, and while it has been very hot there recently, he says it will be ideal during the winter months.  He entered the service eight months ago and this is his first furlough.

Miss Alyda Wallenburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ring Wallenburg, and Cpl. Hans Burgers, son of Mrs. Judith Burgers, were united in marriage at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Jan. 18, 1945, at the parsonage of Rev. Reinsma at Lebanon. 

The bride wore a powder blue dress and she wore a gold locket, a gift from the groom.  The groom wore his army uniform.  ....

Sgt. Hans Burgers called his wife on Monday that he had arrived in the states.  He is getting his official discharge at  Fort Leavenworth, Kansas this week after which he expects to come home.
