Sergeant Kenneth G. Laverty, member of an antisubmarine unit, has arrived safely in Africa, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. J. B. Waggoner, 1116 W. 15th Street. She also received word that her brother, Sergeant George Miller, Ida Grove, Iowa has arrived overseas. Mrs. Waggoner’s nephew, Lieut. Nate Bond of Ida Grove has been in Australia for more than a year.

Nathan James “Nate" Bond was born Feb. 6, 1917 to James Clark and Esther Frances Miller Bond. He died Feb. 6, 1917.

Nate served wirh the U.S. Army in World War II.
