Sgt. Lynn Ross Brown Jr.

 

 

 

Lynn Ross Brown, Jr. was born May 16, 1922 to Lynn Ross (Sr.) and Adelle Pearl Harrison Brown. He died Mar. 3, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing in Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Netherlands

Sgt. Brown served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 710th Bomber Squadron, 447th Bomber Group, Heavy as a right waist gunner aboard a B-17 Flying Fortress “Paper Doll" on a bombing mission to Berlin Germany. He was MIA/KIA/FOD near Westermunde, Germany when his aircraft collided with another of our aircraft. He was awarded the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
