Lt. Joseph Brody

 

 

 

 

Lieutenant Joseph Brody, 25, is the son of Attorney and Mrs. Joseph Stoltz Brody, 930 Twenty-ninth st.

He has been in the Pacific area since June, and shared in nine raiding missions over Japan.

Mechanical Engineer.
A graduate of Roosevelt high school here, he received his degree in mechanical engineering at Iowa State College, Ames, in January, 1943, and was commissioned a lieutenant in the Army Air Forces at Yale University in September, 1943.

He was then assigned as a flight engineer in a B-29 squadron and continued special training until June.

Based on Guam, his Superfortress group shared also in the dropping of bundles of supplies to American prisoners of war in Japan after the surrender in August, he wrote his parents recently.

A younger brother, Second Lieutenant Arthur Brody, 20, was killed June 25, 1944, in a P-47 fighter plane crash in England.
