Marion Lester ‘Les' Brock was born Apr. 29, 1919 to John Marion and Clara H. Christianson Brock. He died Mar. 11, 2000.

Pvt. Brock served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Word War II.

Les Brock, 80, Hampton, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the Hampton Health Center. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Graceland Cemetery with Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191. There will be no visitation and arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Marion Lester Brock, son of John and Clara Christianson Brock, was born Apr.. 29, 1919 at Thor. He attended Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High School. He served with the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his discharge, he returned to Webster City and worked at Sears in Fort Dodge. He married Ruth Eckstein on April 25, 1970. He worked for the U.S. Postal service for several years before his retirement in 1985. He continued to reside in Webster City. Ruth Brock died Feb. 21, 1995. He had been a resident of the care center since Feb. of 1998.

Survivors are sons and daughter-in-law, Les and Opal Brock of Cleveland, GA, Mitchell Brock, Eagle, ID, daughters and son-in-law, Kathlene and Duane Fillwock of Eaton Rapids, MI, Barbara McGann-Kerr, Eagle, ID; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen Lemon, Webster City.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
