Lieutenant Elmer Brinkman of Matlock was reported over station WHO, Sunday as one of the pilots participating in the Sunday’s air raid on Lake New Guinea.

Elmer Paul Brinkman was born June 2, 1920 to Gerrit and Ruth Brinkman. He died Jan. 7, 1946 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

1st Lt. Brinkman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 71st Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomb Group, Heavy. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
