Mapleton, Iowa – Word has been received here that Kenneth S. Brechler has been transferred from Camp Andover, Massachusetts, with a military police battalion to New York City. He also received a promotion to corporal. Brechler was athletic coach at Mapleton High School before entering civil service at Ellis Island, more than a year ago. He was inducted into the army from Monona County recently.
