Arthur Paul Bowman was born Nov. 14, 1911 to Charles Allen and Clara Belle Dubson Bowman. He died Oct. 25, 1959 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Arthur served with the U.S. Army Battery A, 755th Field Artillery Battalion in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

A. P. Bowman Died Sunday

Arthur P. Bowman, 44, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hamilton county hospital. He had suffered a heart attack at his home Friday evening and was taken to the hospital at that time.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Robert E. Shaw officiating and with burial at Graceland cemetery. Military services will be held at the grave.

Arthur Paul Bowman, son of Charles and Clara Bowman, was born Nov. 14, 1914, near McLanesboro, Ill. He was three years old when he moved with his family to Iowa, locating on a farm near Williams. He was reared and educated in the Williams community, later moving to Webster City. He later moved to California where he entered the military service, serving from 1940 to 1945. He received the purple heart medal for wounds received in the Battle of the Bulge in the European war theater.

Following his discharge, he returned to Webster City and was employed as maintenance man for eight years at Stafford Implement Co. and for six years at Perry Williams Implement. For the past three months he had been employed at Bishop Implement.

He was united in marriage June 14, 1951 to Lorene Hutchison, and Mr. and Mrs. Bowman had always since resided at 127 Third St.

Surviving are his wife; six sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Albert (Prusha) of Claremont, Minn., Gerhardt Lund of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Lyle Ebeling of Minneapolis, Mrs. Raymond Agan of Williams, Mrs. Louie Gruys of Thornton, Iowa, Mrs. Guy Gaster of Webster City and Ernest Bowman of Albert Lea, Minn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Bowman was a member of the Baptist church and the American Legion.
