George R. Blake was born about 1913 to William Thomas and Mary Jane Burrell Blake. He died Aug. 28, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
Sgt. Blake served in World War II with the U.S. Army 315th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
