Dale Sheldon Blake was born Oct. 4, 1924 to Dwain and Evelyn Stuckey Blake. He died Sept. 15, 1995 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery.

Dale served in World War II as a Flight Officer with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Dale Blake, 70, Webster City, died Sept. 15, 1995, of a stroke following complications with heart surgery at Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. Foster Funeral Home in Webster City was in charge of arrangements.

Dale Sheldon Blake, son of Dwain and Evelyn Stuckey Blake, was born Oct. 4, 1924, at Green Island. He graduated from high school in 1942 in Bellevue. He attended Webster City Junior College for one semester. Then he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps for two and one half years and served as a flight officer. On Aug. 17, 1947, he married Katherine Jeanette Samuelson in Webster City. In December of 1950, he graduated from Iowa State with a degree in farm operations. In 1951, the couple started farming south of Webster City. In 1954, they moved to a farm north of Webster City and in 1967, they moved to the family farm in Cass Township.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Blake, Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Caddel, Versailles, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bargsten Blake, Utica, Neb.; grandchildren, Seth, Cory and Sam Blake, Katey and Jessica Caddel; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and William Hill, Stanhope; step-mother, Vivian Blake, West Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ann Elizabeth Blake; and son, Don Dwain Blake.

Mr. Blake was on the board of trustees and the administrative board of his church. He was an 18-year member of the Woolstock Farmers Co-op Board, a board member of the Regional Production Credit Association, and a commissioner for the Hamilton County Soil Conservation Service.
