These Iowans, like those pictured here on previous Sundays, have given their lives for their country. They are men who have died in actual combat or in prison camps. The fourth line under each name designates the theatre of war in which they were serving. Other pictures will be published later.

Ray Junior Black was born Nov. 20, 1922 to Ray Porter and Marie Elizabeth Black. He died Aug 10, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Black served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Quincy (CA-39) and was MIA/KIA when that vessel was sunk in the Battle of Savo Island.
