Donald E. Bard was born Oct. 8, 1913 to Martin A. and Lydia E. Carlson Bard. He died Jan. 3, 1943 and is buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, IA.

Pvt. Bard served in World War II with the U.S. Army 132nd Infantry Division and died in the service of his country in the South Pacific.
