William R. Barber was born Mar. 28, 1920 to Freelan E. and Elsie Pearl Maynard Barber. He died Dec. 16, 1942 and is buried in Fort William McKinley, Manila, the Philippines.
Pvt. Barber served with the U.S. Army 125th Infantry, 32nd Division in World War II and was MIA/KIA in New Guinea. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
