Lt. Norman C. Arnold

Norman C. Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arnold of Sergeant Bluff, has been promoted to first lieutenant of infantry in the Hawaiian Islands. He graduated as a second lieutenant at the Fort Benning, Georgia officers’ candidate school, September 29, 1942. For the past eight months he has served overseas.

Norman Charles Arnold was born May 23, 1919 to Frank and Flora Victoria Clift Arnold. He died June 19, 1944 and is buried in Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, IA.

1st Lt. Arnold served in World War II with the U.S. Army 105th Infantry, 9th Division and was KIA in Saipan.
