Grant Harry Anderson

 

 

 

Grant Harry Anderson was born Feb. 24, 1921 to Harry and Ruth Bjorklund Anderson. He died Oct. 21, 1998 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Grant served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Obituary in part:

Son of Harry and Ruth Bjorklund Anderson, was born on a farm east of Stratford. He attended schools at Stratford and Stanhope and graduated from Webster City High Schools in 1939 and started working at the Highview Cooperative Elevator. During WWII, he served with the U.S.Navy. On June 9, 1945, he married Maxine Miller at Seattle, Wash. After his discharge, he return to Highview and his job at at the Co-Op. He began farming in 1951 at Highview and started the Pioneer Seed Dealership in 1957, and was with them for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife; daughter and son-in-law, Jann & Gene Stanley, Webster City; grandchildren, Shelly Arends, Chicago, and Curt Arends, Ames; and a sister, Rosealie May, Princeton, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willard Anderson
