Pvt. Elmer Donald Clifford Anderson

 

 

 

Elmer Donald Clifford Anderson was born Apr. 4, 1914 to Carl and Anna Peterson Anderson. He died Dec. 31, 1979 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA.

Pvt. Anderson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 221st Field Artillery, 96th Division and was wounded during the invasion of Leyte Island. He was awarded the Good Conduct Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, three Bronze Battle Stars, Bronze Arrowhead Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon and the Purple Heart.
