Cpl. Donald J. Anderson

 

 

 

Donald J. Anderson was born Feb. 20, 1918 to James Casper and Merdith P. Eddy Anderson. He died Apr. 14, 1945 and is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Lorraine, France.

Cpl. Anderson served with Co. K, 397th Infantry, U.S. Army and was severely wounded near Heilbronn, Germany and immediately evacuated to a hospital but died there of his wounds. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
