Charles L. Anderson, Jr. was born June 23, 1919 to Charles L. (Sr.) and Clara Anderson. He died Feb. 23, 1945 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.

Cpl. Anderson served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps E Company, 2nd Parachute Battalion, 1st Parachute Regiment, I Marine Amphibious Corps (IMAC) and was KIA on Red Beach Two on Iwo Jima while participating in combat operations.
