Pvt. Alvin H. Anderson

 

 

Rites for Pvt. Alvin H. Anderson Will Be Held at 2 P.M. Friday.

Funeral services for Pvt. Alvin H. Anderson, who was killed November 1, 1944, in northern Italy will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sergeant Bluff Community Methodist church. 

Burial will be in the Sergeant Bluff cemetery under the direction of Pearson's funeral home in Onawa. Members of George Nelson post, 662, American Legion, will conduct military rites at the cemetery. 

Pvt. Anderson was born August 1, 1911 at Sergeant Bluff. He was graduated from high school there. In August 1942, he joined the army and took part in the African and Italian campaigns. 

Survivors are the widow, Alice of Pittsburgh, a son Jarl and a daughter, Nancy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Anderson of Sergeant Bluff, two brothers, Alfred of Lima, O., and Dr. Stanly S. of Onawa and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Spencer of Sergeant Bluff. 

The body is expected to arrive in Onawa Thursday.
