Pvt. Alvin Eldred Aid

 

 

Alvin Eldred Aid was born May 6, 1923 to Roy Stillman and Wilma Beatrice Norman Aid. He died Apr. 28, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and at Memory Cemetery, Page Co., IA.

Pvt. Aid served in World War II with the U.S. Army 3206th Quartermaster Service Co. and was one of the nearly 500 soldiers and sailors lost during Operation “Tiger” off Slapton Sands, Devon, and declared MIA/KIA. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
