Cadet George D. Addison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Addison, 1616 Douglas Street is one of five Iowa aviation cadets to complete basic flying at Pecos army air field, Texas, who are being sent to advance flying schools before winning their commissions and assignments to active duty.

George D. Addison, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.J Addison, 1616 Douglas Street and Ralph Roland Ross, son of Mrs. Emlie Ross, of Doon, Iowa, received their wings and were commissioned second lieutenants when they were graduated recently from the army air force advanced flying school at Marfa, Texas. Lieut. Addison is a graduate of Central High School and a former Morningside College student. Lieut. Ross is also a former student of that college, a graduate of Doon Public School and a former student at Sheldon Junior College.
