His Obituary:

D. Jay Adams was born Feb. 9, 1927 to Maurice Fullerton and Cora Gayle Lorbach Adams. He died Oct. 14, 2005 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

D. Jay served with the U.S. Navy in World War II in the South Pacific theater of action.

Son of Maurice and Gayle Lorbach Adams. He received his education and graduated from Barnum High School in 1944. During W.W.II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the south pacific theater of action. Following his discharge, he married Loretta B. Warehime on Nov. 26, 1947 at Manson. The couple farmed for over 40 years in the Woolstock area. They moved to Webster City in August of 2004. Jay had been residing at Southfield Wellness Community since March of 2005.

He is survived by his loving Wife, Loretta; daughters, Paula & husband Larry Fitchhorn, Linda Olmstead and Tom Osboe all of Webster City.; grandchildren, Sarah & husband Joe Kopriva, Marta Osweiler, Cooper Olmstead; step- grandchildren, Jeff, John & Stephanie Olmstead, Sarah and husband Jared Will; great granddaughter, Harper and Delaney Kopriva; brother, Robert G. Adams of Humboldt and special family friend Mark Dohms of Webster City. Jay was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dan Olmstead; his parents; and brothers, William and Eldred Adams.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #553 of Woolstock for over 50 yrs, 40 yrs. member of the Moose Lodge #735 of Webster City, 18 yrs on Broad of Directors for the Woolstock Coop. and was one of the founding members of the Woolstock Telephone Company.
