Lyle Charles Abbott was born Dec. 14, 1917 to Charles M. and Ethel Euella Orwan Abbott. He died July 24, 2010 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Afton, IA.
Lyle served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 346th Fighter Squadron, 350th Fighter Group, 12th Air Force as a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter pilot in Italy.
