TWO ARE PROMOTED.
Dispatches from the ninth naval district, Great Lakes, Ill, sent by Lt. Cmdr. Roger Q. White, report the advancement in rank of two young men from this area serving in the U. S. Navy.

Following graduation from service schools earlier this week, Bernard L. Moorhead, 20, husband of Mrs. Bernice Moorhead, 402 ½ West Fourth street, was given the rating of fireman, second class, following studies in the metal-smiths school. Charles Chester Yerington, 20, Atalissa, was given the rating of gunner’s mate, third class.

Charles Chester Yerington was born Nov. 20, 1922 to Archie R. and Zella R. Figgins Yerington. He died Feb. 1, 2000 and is buried in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA.
