Battle Casualties Sadden More Homes

LT. JOHN “JACK” WILSON—Lt. John “Jack” Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson, of Muscatine, and husband of Janet Hildebrand Wilson of near West Liberty, was killed in an airplane crash near Greenville, S. C., Feb. 5, 1943, relatives were informed. The body was brought to Muscatine for funeral services and burial.

John Ellis Wilson was born Nov. 29, 1914 to Thomas Perry and Genevieve Mary Ellis Wilson. He died Feb. 5, 1943 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine, IA.

Lt. Wilson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Training Instructor at Greenville Army Air Base, Greenville, South Carolina and died in a plane crash near Newberry, South Carolina.
