Private First Class Ray J. Wilmes, son of J. B. Wilmes, has returned to army duties after spending a furlough with his father. Private Wilmes spent 20 months overseas.

Pfc. Raymond J. Wilmes is spending a 14-day furlough in the home of his father, J. B. Wilmes and other relatives. He has been in the service 3 ½ years and has been in overseas service. He is stationed at Camp Gruber, Okla.

Raymond John Wilmes was born Aug. 23, 1906 to John B. and Mary Conrady Wilmes. He died June 7, 1972 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars, IA.
