Pfc. Elmer Glen Wendell

LETTERS

Our thanks to Mrs. Elmer Wendell, of 1405 West 2nd St., McCook, Neb., for the interesting letter concerning her husband, Pfc. Elmer Glen Wendell, who has an APO address, and which may be obtained upon request at the Record-News office. The letter reads as follows:

"As Delphos is Elmer's home town, I thought perhaps his friends would like to know where he is. Since September 1, he has been in foreign service. I'm sure he'd be glad to hear from anyone who wants to write to him as he gets so home-sick at times.

"We had two short visits here, delays en route, one in June and one in August. He got acquainted then with Billy, our 14-month-old son, whom he never had seen. We spent a week in Grand Island, too, with his parents.

"Before he had his last furlough he was sent to San Antonio, Texas, and got to see his brother, Kenneth, after a 20-month separation. While he is gone I am living with my sister in McCook. Her husband is overseas, too.

"I have heard once from Elmer. He couldn't tell me anything only that he was in New Guinea. I know he'd like to hear from all his friends."
