DOING CIVILIAN WORK WITH U. S. AIR CORPS

Special to The Nonpareil

TABOR – Mrs. Anna Wells has received interesting letters from her son, Dr. Charles P. Wells, who is now somewhere on the east coast of Italy. Dr. Wells was called last February by the government for civilian work in the air corps. He was first stationed in this country in Florida, in Washington, D. C., and in New York. He left for Italy in June.

He finds the climate and country delightful, living expenses moderate, but no abundance of water in the hotels. Before being called into service by the government, Dr. Wells was teaching mathematics in the state college at East Lansing, Mich. He gained his early education in Tabor and Simpson colleges, was awarded his M.A. and his doctor’s degrees at Ames, where he taught for a time, and has also done graduate work at Princeton.
