LOCAL NEWS NOTES.

LeRoy K. Burket, Jr., of this city enlisted in the U. S. Navy one day last week at the Navy Recruiting Station in Sioux City and reports there for duty next Monday. John Moller, east of town, is also a recent naval recruit there, and George Von Hagel and Eugene Van Court went to the city today (Thursday) to apply for naval enlistment. Both are in the August draft.

Akron, Ia.—Pvt. George Von Hagel, who served the past two years overseas with the Eighth air force, has left for Sheridan, Ill., for reassignment after a 30-day furlough at home.

George Harm Von Hagel was born Jan. 22, 1901 to Albert and Lena Fiebing Von Hagel. He died Sept. 3, 1991 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, IA. George served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 389th Bomb Group in England.
