Notes About N. E. Iowa Service Men

QUASQUETON—Among those joining the Army this week are Earl Andrews, son of William Andrews, and Kenneth Cahill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cahill.

Corp. Melvin Voland, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., is home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Voland, on a seven-day furlough.

Corp. Theodore Wayne Blackenburg, Camp Pickette, Va., was visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch E. Blackenburg, last week.

Melvin Charles Voland was born July 29, 1910 to Frederick E. and Stella Gladys Hasty Voland. He died Dec. 14, 1967 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA. 

Cpl. Voland served in World War II with the U.S. Army 80th Field Artillery Battalion.
