SIOUX CITYAN IS MEMBER OF ESCORT FOR PARTY IN ROME

Pfc. Raymond Vaughn, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Vaughn, 923  27th street, was a member of the motorcycle escort for the congressional party when the committee on military affairs met in Rome December 15, according to a letter received by his parents from John M. Costello, representative from the 15th district in California.

Mr. Costello stated that Pfc. Vaughn was in the best of health and seemed to be enjoying his duties.  “The motorcycle escort which was furnished to our party certainly did a splendid job of getting our convoy of cars through traffic in order that we should have sufficient time to see the various military establishments which we visited,” Mr. Costello said.

Pfc. Vaughn was graduated from Central high school and was employed by the Johnson Biscuit company as a baker before he entered the army.
