T/5 Jerry VanderZwaay

 

NEWS OF OUR MEN and WOMEN IN UNIFORM

T/5 Jerry Vander Zwaay has arrived home having received his discharge from the Army on November 7 at Fort Sheridan, Ill., having a total of 94 points. He was inducted into the army on August 18, 1942, and served overseas for 22 months. T/5 Vander Zwaay participated in battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe and has several decorations and citations which includes 4 battle stars and the purple heart. He was a member of the 149th Engrs and on June 6 of this year was wounded in action in France. He is married to the former Pauline Mouw and they have one daughter, Darlene Ann. He plans to return to his occupation of farming.
