NEWS OF OUR MEN and WOMEN IN UNIFORM

Cpl. John VanderWeide and Cpl. John VanVoorst recently met in England and had a nice visit together. Mr. and Mrs. Peter VanderWeide also received word from their son Henry VanderWeide saying that he had been moved from France into Belgium. He is with the transportation corps.

SERVICEMEN

Henry Vander Weide, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vander Weide, is now in combat in Belgium, and is driving a jeep.  Until lately he had been holding an office job.

Henry Van Der Weide was born May 27, 1925 to Peter and Hattie Harshamp Van Der Weide. He died Feb. 10, 1946 and is buried in Memory Gardens Sioux Center Cemetery, Sioux Center, IA.

Pvt. Van Der Weide served in World War II with the U.S. Army 27th Tank Battalion.
