Morris Traub

 

IS GRADUATED BOMBARDIER
Morris Traub, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Traub, 319 Third street northwest, received his silver bombardier wings and was commissioned a second lieutenant at Childress, Tex., on July 15. He was in one of four large classes which were graduated in the vast west Texas bombardier quadrangle at Midland, Big Springs, San Angelo and Childress, Tex.

He enlisted Jan. 15, 1942, and has three brothers also in the service. They are Lt. Ben Traub, Aviation Metalsmith Sam Traub, and Robert Traub, a younger brother, who is in the naval reserve.

Morris Traub was born Sept. 10, 1916 to Jacob and Pauline Aberman Traub. He died Apr. 23, 2012 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.

Morris served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier on a B-17 with the 388th Bomb Group, 563rd Bomb Squadron.
