WAUCOMA—Pfc. Mark Tomasek left for Jefferson Barracks, Mo., after spending a 45 day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Maggie Tomasek. Mark served 17 months in the European war theater.

Mark Edward Tomasek was born Dec. 31, 1925 to Frank J. and Margaret “Maggie” Dunn Tomasek. He died June 20, 1999 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Waucoma, IA. 

Mark served with the U.S. Army 304th Infantry, 76th Division.
