S. W. IOWANS PRY NAZIS OUT OF PILLBOXES

A Council Bluffs and a Farragut soldier are squad leaders in the 337th “Wolverine” regiment which recently took 3,000 foot Mount Pratone in the Gothic line, digging German soldiers out of elaborate concrete pillboxes and earthworks on its forested slopes, it was announced Saturday from the 5th army front in Italy.

They are Cpl. Robert C. Dickinson, whose wife, Mrs. Marie Dickinson, resides at 1809 Sixth avenue, and S. Sgt. Kenneth S. Thompson, son of Mrs. Edna M. Thompson of Farragut.

Kenneth Stanley Thompson was born Oct. 30, 1919 to Samuel A. and Edna M. Hopkins Thompson. He died Mar. 13, 1971 and is buried in Farragut Cemetery, Farragut, IA.
