Private William Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lena Meyers, 609 Bluff Street, is stationed at Buckley Field, Colo., where he is taking special gunner training.

Sioux City Man Wins Air Medal

S. Sgt. William (“Billy”) Taylor, son of Mrs. Lena Meyers, 609 Bluff street, has been awarded the air medal, the citation listing meritorious achievement in accomplishing distinction on several aerial operational missions over enemy territory.

S. Sgt. Taylor, a gunner on a bomber, was graduated from Central high school and enlisted in the army air corps in February, 1943. He was graduated and received his wings at the gunnery school at Wendover field, Utah, and embarked for England March, 1944.
