EDWARD STURM, T-5, SENDS CABLEGRAM
Frank X. Sturm of Maple River received a cablegram yesterday from his son, Edward Sturm T-5, who is somewhere overseas. This was the first word the family had gotten from him since April 23. In his message he stated he is well and safe.

SIX CARROLL COUNTY BOYS ARE TOGETHER SOMEWHERE IN IRAN
Six Carroll County boys, who have been together since they left for the Army last November, have arrived safely overseas and are somewhere in Iran. They are: Cpl. Lewis Schmitz, Arcadia; Cpl. Edward Sturm, Maple River; Pfc. Harold Rudke, Manning; Pfc. Otto J. Blumi, Halbur; Pfc. Alfred Hart, Coon Rapids; and Sgt. Vernon Knute, Glidden.
In a letter from “the boys” they say that “All of us had known each other before going into the army, so we consider ourselves very lucky to be together. All of us are in good health and hope to return to Carroll County some day and meet all our friends.”

Cpl. Edward Sturm Returning Home Soon
Cpl. Edward Sturm expects to be home in a week with his discharge from the Army. He has been overseas two and one-half years. Cpl. Sturm called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. (?) Sturm, after his arrival in New York Sunday.

EDWARD STURM OF BREDA HAS HIS DISCHARGE
Breda—(THNS)—Cpl. Edward W. Sturm, who has been in the China-Burma theater, is home as a dischargee. He was also in Iran during the 31 months he was overseas. His service record totals three years and one month.
Sturm, son of Frank X. Sturm, was discharged Nov. 30, at Camp Grant, Ill. He arrived home Saturday night.
Besides the European Theater of Operations ribbon and Asiatic-Pacific ribbon he has the Good Conduct Medal. He has one battle star. Sturm was attached to 3942 Quartermaster Truck Company.
